Aviation Maintenance Schools
If you want to increase your chances of finding a job in aircraft maintenance, consider enrolling in an aircraft maintenance school.
There are approximately 170 aviation maintenance schools that have been certified by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA).
These schools are required to put their students through at least 1,900 class hours, which usually means about 18-24
months of aviation maintenance training.
In school, students learn how to inspect and repair airplane systems such as engines, landing gear, instruments, and brakes. They also learn how to use diagnostic equipment that tests for cracks and worn parts that can't be seen by the naked eye.
